Our Story
Amy and Rick Sovereign started Sovereign Medical Transport in 2016 with a shared desire to care for people in their community. Amy brought years of experience in healthcare and raising five children. Rick brought the attention to detail he developed managing home remodeling projects. Together, they built a company around dependable service and treating people with kindness.
Today, Sovereign is still family-operated, and that personal approach continues to shape how we work. We want every passenger to feel welcome, listened to, and cared for—whether they’re heading to a regular appointment or spending a day with family. Taking time to help someone settle in, listening to a concern, and treating them with patience and respect are all part of the ride.

Oregon's First NEMTAC®-Accredited Medical Transport Provider
NEMTAC® runs the only national accreditation program built specifically for non-emergency medical transportation, and has set the industry's standards under ANSI accreditation since 2018. To earn it, a provider's safety, service quality, governance, and operational accountability all have to hold up under an independent review. That bar often sits higher than state or local law requires. We've operated Sovereign to that standard since 2016, and in 2026 we became the first provider in Oregon to be accredited.
